Paw Paw Parents, The Paw Paw Administration is closely monitoring the winter weather that is predicted for tomorrow. Our goal is to let you know in the morning by 5:30 a.m. whether we will have in-person attendance or not. Since the original forecast had the bad weather coming in later in the day tomorrow, we did not ask our teachers to send instructional materials home with the students. For this reason, if we are not able to have in-person attendance tomorrow, it will be a traditional snow day that will be made up at the end of the year. The purpose of this communication this evening is just to give you a heads-up regarding the weather situation and to give you an opportunity to plan ahead if needed. We will be sending out another robocall tomorrow morning only if we are forced to cancel school. Thank You and have a great evening.

Paw Paw Parents & Staff, After consulting with our road commissioners and others, it appears that road conditions have not improved to the point where we feel comfortable sending out our buses this morning. Therefore, we have decided to have a remote learning day. We are sorry for the delay in making this announcement, but conditions have not improved as much as we expected. Indian Creek is still in session today. The bus drivers are going attempt to pick up our high school students this morning. If they are unable to navigate the east/west roads, you have the option of taking them to Indian Creek or choosing remote learning.

Hello Parents/Guardians, This is Eve Phillips, Principal at Paw Paw Schools with a few announcements and reminders. In-Person learning will begin at Paw Paw on Tuesday, January 19th. School day hours are going to remain the same as they were earlier in the year, which is 8:00am - 1:45pm. The doors will open for students in the morning at 7:45am. A reminder that there is NO SCHOOL this coming Monday, January 18th. We will be having the same safety procedures as we did last semester. Students will be required to wear a clean mask to school each day. Parents will need to send their children with the lanyards provided by the school that have the COVID related symptoms list on it. By sending the lanyard with your child, you are certifying that the student is free from any of the COVID symptoms. As a reminder, please keep them home if they are presenting any of these symptoms and contact the school to report them as absent for the day. You are also welcome to send a clean water bottle with your child each day that is filled with water only. To reduce the spread of germs, all water fountains in the building have been covered and turned off. We will be offering lunches for students that are on remote learning for this 2nd semester. You will need to respond weekly to the emails and pickups will be on Monday’s between 10:00am- 12:00 pm. Parents can also pickup/drop off any remote learning materials during these times. Just a reminder that all lunches are free for all Paw Paw students this school year. A final reminder is that if we find that there is inclement weather and we would need to close the school, instead of taking a non-attendance day, we will be implementing a remote learning day. I will send out an all-call and email to all parents as soon as a decision is made. It will also be posted on the website, Facebook page and to local radio/tv stations. Your child will need to check Seesaw or Google Classroom to get their instructions from their teachers on these days. We will do our best to send home school laptops to students in advance if possible. Thank you and have a great weekend!

Hello Paw Paw Families: This is Eve Phillips, Principal at Paw Paw Schools. Today was our first day and it was great to see all of the kids here in the building. Some of our staff members were able to do some Zoom calls with our remote learning students and include them in our classrooms. I know that we had some issues with Zoom this morning, but we should be good to go. Teachers are setting up their Remote learning schedules and will be in contact with students and parents this week. I wanted to remind all in-person learning students that Parents need to do a daily check that students do not have any of the COVID-19 symptoms including a fever over 100.4 degrees or higher. Students will need to wear their lanyards with the badge each day. These lanyards came home with the students today and will be our communication tool with the parents that you are sending them each morning symptom free to our building. Thanks for all your patiences with our teachers and staff. We are so glad to be back to school. Have a wonderful evening.

Parents, Guardians and Staff: Note: There will be no student attendance from March 16 through March 30, 2020. Due to an increase in nearby counties with confirmed cases of COVID-19, the Paw Paw District will not hold school on Monday, March 16 as previously stated. This decision was made after the Governor’s Press Conference late afternoon today. Teachers and Staff will be reporting on Monday, March 16, to prepare Alternative Education Plans for students. We will have more information on distribution of learning materials for you tomorrow. We will hold the regular Board of Education meeting on Monday evening and are asking that everyone observe social distancing protocols as requested by the health departments. As this health situation evolves, we may have to make changes to our decisions and protocols as needed.
