August 3, 2020

Parents/Guardians,

As we are getting ready to begin the 2020-2021 school year, there are several informational items that we would like to let you know.

In-Person/Remote Learning

At registration, we asked you to give your preference for either in-person or remote learning for the first semester of this school year.  If you would like to change your preference, please respond to this email or contact Eve Phillips, Principal at ephillips@2paws.net or 815-627-2671 ext 224.  We are asking you to make this decision by Friday, August 7, 2020.

First Day of School

We are adjusting the beginning of the school year to allow our teachers and staff to receive professional development. The first day of school for students will be Tuesday, August 25th.  School will be held from 8:00am to 1:45pm.

School Calendar

The school calendar will be amended by the Board of Education with the new start day. Additionally, there will be no School Improvement Days first semester, so consequently students will be in school from 8:00-1:45 everyday excluding holidays and Teacher Inservice days. A new calendar will be sent once the Board approves the changes.

Remote Learning Option

I am also attaching a document to this email that provides further details regarding in-person and remote learning options.  We have added to this document based on some of the questions that parents have sent to administration.  Please note that these details may change pending further guidance from the Illinois State Board of Education, Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Centers for Disease Control.

Chromebooks

Students that will be doing remote learning for the first semester will need to pick up their school issued chromebooks from the school.  A schedule will be sent out later this week for the dates and times of pick up.

We will continue to update you on the start-of-school plans, and we appreciate your patience with this fluid and unprecedented year.

Thank You,

Eve Phillips, Principal
