To address the wild rumors: there is not a credible threat. The is NO list and there never was a list.
Due to the numerous wild rumors about a student threatening to come to school and harm students, I feel it is my responsibility to make the following statement: an incident was reported late Monday that a student had told some students they were “on my list.” The incident was investigated and we concluded THERE IS NO LIST AND THERE NEVER WAS A LIST. Not only did I conclude this to be true, but the Lee County Sheriffs office was called in and also came to the same conclusion. Unfortunately, some students and parents are spreading completely inaccurate information and have helped spread falsehoods. My greatest desire was that this would die down over the holiday but that does not seem to be the case. I am further disappointed that so many of those parents who know me would accuse me of not taking this seriously. In fact, had I felt any child was in danger I would have immediately notified every single parent. To repeat, neither I, nor the Lee County Sheriff consider this to be a credible threat. If you have any concerns or questions please do the responsible thing and call or stop by my office on Tuesday. I look forward to speaking with you.
